In May 1923, the famous evangelistic team of sisters Leatha and Reatha Morris ran a revival in Arkansas City. Later, Reatha Morris married and became Evangelist Reatha Herndon (the first COGIC National Elect Lady from 1951-2001). The Morris Sisters were living in Wichita, Kansas at the time, although they hailed from Oklahoma. At least one former member of the Arkansas City Church, the late Mother Carrie Brooks of California, notes in her obituary that she received the Holy Ghost in that 1923 Arkansas City revival.
